Bagels for everyone!
The aim of the National School Breakfast Programme is to ensure no child starts the school day too hungry to learn. The programme is being delivered by a partnership of two charities, Family Action and Magic Breakfast, and is funded by the department for education.
Together, we offer a wealth of experience working with disadvantaged communities and providing schools with food aid and support to help them reach children at risk of hunger at the start of the school day.
Here at New Road School we will be offering bagels in the playground from 8:35am every morning. All children and siblings are welcome to have a bagel free of charge. The bagels will be handed out every morning in the KS2 playground. The gates will open at 8.35am and bagels will stop being given out by 8.50am to ensure children have finished in time for the class doors opening.
Whilst all children are welcome to come and collect a free bagel, parents must still stay with their children until the class doors open. If your child attends the current early morning club with Mrs Lacy they are also welcome to breakfast and this will be offered in addition to the current service.
