Week 6- WB 7.2.2022

This week we learnt about astronauts. We made rockets for them to fly in.

We made homes for where Beegu could live.

For internet safety we thought about how we would feel if we were not safe on the internet

In maths we learnt about numbers to 20 and found numbers that were larger and smaller.

For mental health week we thought about what feelings we had bottled up.

Week 5 - WB 31.2.2022

This week we have been thinking about aliens. We told them all about the seasons.

We designed our own aliens.

In maths we ordered numerals and words to 20.

We also used the small world to create different homes. this is an aquarium.

This is a castle made using different 3D shapes.

Year 1 and 2 rocket launch science experiment

This week we have been experimenting how to send a rocket in to space.

For our science experiment we mixed vinegar and bicarbonate of soda in an old coke bottle. We then placed a cork in the send of the bottle and gave it a shake.

Week 4 - WB 24.1.2022

This week we have been thinking about rockets.

We have been building rocket landing spots and launch pads.

Building and designing rockets.

creating rockets and space using shapes.

In maths we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes and putting them in to patterns.

Week 3 - WB 17.1.2022

This week we learnt about star gazing and made sun glasses to protect our eyes.

In science we looked at glow in the dark stars and what happens when the lights go out.

For art this week we were inspired by Peter Thorpe.

During RE we had our Passover meal.

Everyone said it was yummy and delicious!

For our writing this week we wrote postcards about a trip to the moon.

Week 2 - WB 10.1.2022

This week we have been learning about the planets in our solar system.

We looked at what Earth looks like from space and where are the hot and cold places.

We also did a science experiment to make and explore fizzing bubbling planets.

We then tried to answer the question can we live on Mars? We all answered no.

We then created and painted our own planets.

We looked at other artists to help us decide what colours to use.

Week 1 - WB 5.1.2022

This week we started our topic about space.

We invented new rockets. Pink rocket with pink fire.

We created rockets with Kapla.

We made more rockets and space ships.

We started to think about constellations. Aaira created her own, its a giraffe!

We learnt the names of the planets in the solar system and made them with the loose parts.
