The role will include working as a Teacher Assistant in class and supporting children with Special Educational Needs. Please state in your application any training or experience you have had when dealing with SEND.

As part of the Teacher Assistant role in our school, our Teacher Assistants also cover lunch hour duties; this has really helped our children since they have great respect for Teacher Assistants and are encouraged to eat developing their social skills and play more purposefully.

A Growth Mindset ethos underpins our learning, building on the belief that every child can learn, no matter what their starting point. Our school motto is “Yes, I can!” and our children have very positive attitudes to learning, particularly when in the face of new challenges and succeed.

We are a one and a half form entry, multi-cultural school and currently have 34 different languages spoken by our children. The children’s cultures are celebrated and some of our children become Young Interpreters supporting each other in school.

Children come to our school with a wide range of ability and our provision for SEN and More Able children is good. We pride ourselves on our Inclusive practice and we have a team of support staff who deliver specialised programmes to support access to learning.

If you are interested in working at New Road, please do contact us and arrange a visit.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Successful candidates are subject to an enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
