Phonics Activities Week Beginning 29th June.
Monday
1: Play the phase 3 diagraph song. They should have a go at doing the actions while they sing. Some of the sounds may be unfamiliar to them but it will help as they start to hear and learn them now. As you play the songs take note of the er digraph as we will focusing on this week.

Click on the link below and play the game by clicking on the word said and pressing the word ‘kick’ to score a goal. You only score a goal if you have the correct word.

Tuesday
1: Watch Jolly Phonic Songs on YouTube and encourage them to join in with the songs and actions.

Play ‘Pick a picture’ - select Phase 3 - sets 6-7
Select phase 2 for an easier mode
Select Phase 3 diagraphs for a more challenging mode.
4: Have a go at dictating this sentence to your child using the sounds we have learnt so far. They should have a go independently as you dictate each word, then you can correct their spellings after.
The sentence to dictate is ‘The herd of cows. ’
Once they have completed the sentence and you have supported them with the correction, can they draw a picture to match their sentence.

Wednesday
1: Watch and join in with the alpha blocks as they make words with the ‘er’ digraph and the other digraph spellings (ir and ur) that make the same sound.

Now play tricky word plat by writing out the tricky words on separate small pieces of paper are he she me was they all was be are all you call out a word for your child to splat. Remember to lay emphasises on the words they did not spell correctly before.

Play Tricky Word Trucks – Phase2 - all HFW - or Tricky word Trucks -Phase 3 -all HFW depending on your child’s phonic knowledge.
Invite your child to read the word as it comes up and tick when read.
