Safeguarding
Safeguarding children and protecting them from harm is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play. New Road School takes this role extremely seriously and our approach to safeguarding is underpinned by two key principles:
- a child-centred approach: for services to be effective they should be based on a clear understanding of the needs and views of children; and
- safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility: for services to be effective each professional and organisation should play their full part.
At New Road School we fulfil these principles by always putting the needs of each individual child at the centre of what we do; working closely with other agencies to provide effective support; and providing staff with regular and up-to-date safeguarding training.
Samantha Cooper (Head Teacher) is the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Charlotte Pudney, Paula Kyle, Hannah James and Julie Crompton are the school's Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads.
Liam Bonthrone is our Safeguarding Governor.
They can be contacted via the school office.
