Young Interpreters
Young Interpreters

At New Road Primary School, our Young Interpreters play a vital role in fostering an inclusive and supportive community. Reflecting the rich diversity of our school, where 39% of children speak English as an additional language (EAL), these dedicated pupils help bridge communication gaps and celebrate different languages and cultures.
Our Young Interpreters are trained to assist peers who may need language support, helping to ensure every child feels understood, valued, and included. They act as ambassadors of respect, responsibility, and consideration — key values that underpin our school vision.
By promoting effective communication and cultural understanding, our Young Interpreters contribute to a positive school environment where every child can thrive academically and socially. Their work not only supports language development but also strengthens friendships and builds confidence across our diverse school community.
We are proud of our Young Interpreters for embodying the spirit of curiosity, kindness, and respect that makes New Road a welcoming place for all.
